This beautiful Travel Gem is really something else. It is housed in a villa once owned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany along with the spa, one of the restaurants, bar and boutique. It is set in splendid isolation in the heart of the Maremma countryside, but is also well-positioned for a visit to the beach, or to one of the many pretty hill towns.
Rooms are spacious and ornately decorated, reminding us of the history of these buildings. The thing we really love about L'Andana is the fact that you can experience everything right here, spread out over the sprawling estate of many hectares. A visit to the Spa and Hammam is something you absolutely have to do, with black-slate hot bath and indoor pool. And if you feel like spoiling yourself, you can book one of their heavenly beauty treatments.
During your stay you can alternate between outdoor pool lounge sessions and an experience or two offered by the friendly staff. You can go horseriding in the adjoining Natural Park or attend one of the cookery classes given by the hotel's chef. And, speaking to our readers with a love for food, please call ahead and book a table at 'La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini' which is housed in the former granary and who have earned a Michelin star.
The hotel feels loved and lived in, with beautifully landscaped gardens, olive groves and lawns, where you can quietly roam and contemplate life, or just take in the spectacular green views of Tuscany.
